Our Approach to Inclusion
At Manuden Primary School, our vision is “Growing hearts, Growing minds, Growing dreams”. We believe that every child should feel valued, respected, and able to flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. Inclusive education is at the heart of everything we do.
Our SEND provision is designed to ensure that all children benefit from support that is readily available and seamlessly integrated into everyday school life. Through quality first teaching, targeted interventions, and access to additional resources, we aim to remove barriers to learning and ensure equitable opportunities for all pupils.
We use a whole-school approach to SEND, meaning that inclusion is not just the responsibility of the SENCO, but is embedded in leadership, teaching, and daily practice. Staff receive ongoing training to understand diverse needs and implement effective strategies in line with the latest evidence-based practice and the principles outlined in the new Ofsted framework, ensuring consistently high-quality outcomes for all children.
Essex Inclusion Framework
Manuden Primary School has signed up to the Essex Inclusion Framework, which reflects collaborative, school-led SEND provision across Essex. The statement emphasises:
-
SEND at the heart of leadership: Inclusion and SEND are core responsibilities for all leaders, not just the SENCO.
-
Belonging and respect: Every child, regardless of need or background, is supported to feel included and valued.
-
High-quality education: We provide teaching and support that enable children to reach their full potential and prepare them for the next stage of learning and life.
-
Responsive provision: Support is tailored to individual needs and can evolve as children progress, ensuring continuity and meaningful outcomes.
Our Commitment
We strive to:
-
Ensure that all children, including those with SEND, have access to high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
-
Provide timely and appropriate interventions that are evidence-based and designed to enhance learning and wellbeing.
-
Work in partnership with parents, local schools, the Local Authority, and health and social care professionals to provide cohesive support.
-
Continuously review our practice and provision to maintain and improve inclusive approaches, in line with the principles of the Essex Inclusion Statement and the new Ofsted framework.
-
Promote a culture of transparency, reflection, and challenge to ensure that our decisions are justified, inclusive, and focused on positive outcomes for every child.
We are committed to going beyond compliance, embedding inclusive values into daily practice, and ensuring that every child at Manuden Primary School can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
