Applying for a Reception Place
Manuden Primary School is a community primary school. Admissions are managed by Essex County Council.
Our Published Admission Number (PAN) for Reception is 15 pupils.
For children starting Reception in September 2027, applications can be made through Essex County Council from 9 November 2026. The closing date for applications is 15 January 2027.
National Offer Day for primary school places is 16 April 2027.

In-Year Admissions
If you would like your child to join Manuden Primary School during the school year, this is known as an in-year or mid-year admission.
In-year applications are managed through the Essex County Council admissions process.

Essex County Council is the admission authority for Manuden Primary School and determines the school’s admission arrangements, including the criteria used if there are more applications than places available.
Parents and carers also have the right to appeal if their child is refused a place.

Children with SEND
We welcome children with a wide range of needs and are committed to inclusive education.
If your child has SEND but does not have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), you should normally apply through the usual admissions process.
If your child has an EHCP, or is currently being assessed for one, different arrangements may apply. Essex County Council provides further guidance about school places for children with SEND.
