At Manuden Primary School, we want every child to begin the day calmly, punctually and ready to learn.

Start of the School Day

• 8:40am – School gates open
• 8:45am – Registration begins and the compulsory school day starts
• 9:00am – Registers close

Children should be in their classroom and ready to learn by 8:45am.

Children arriving after registration has begun should report to the school office.

Break and Lunchtime

• 10:30am–10:45am – Morning break
• 12:00pm–1:00pm – Lunchtime

End of the School Day

The compulsory school day finishes at 3:15pm.

Parents and carers should ensure that children are collected promptly unless they are attending an organised after-school activity or our wraparound care provision.

Length of the School Week

The compulsory school day runs from 8:45am to 3:15pm, Monday to Friday.

This provides a total school week of 32 hours and 30 minutes, including morning break and lunchtime.

Punctuality and Attendance

Regular attendance and punctuality are important to children's learning and wellbeing. Arriving on time helps children settle successfully into the school day and ensures that learning is not missed.
