Physical Education and Sport – Investing in Our Vision

As part of the Government’s commitment to improving Physical Education and school sport, primary schools receive a ring-fenced grant to enhance the quality and breadth of PE provision. This funding, provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, is dedicated solely to improving sport and physical activity for all pupils.

At our school, we view this funding not simply as additional money, but as an opportunity to live out our vision in action. High-quality physical education develops far more than physical skills; it builds resilience, teamwork, confidence and aspiration. Through carefully planned investment, we ensure that every child—regardless of background or ability—has access to rich sporting experiences, competitive opportunities and the foundations for a lifelong love of healthy, active living.

In line with our vision of A small school with big ideas - Growing hearts, Growing minds, Growing dreams, we use this funding strategically to strengthen both body and character. By tailoring spending to the specific needs of our pupils, we ensure that sport and physical activity contribute meaningfully to their personal development, wellbeing and overall educational excellence.
