Meet the Staff

Come and meet the staff at our school:

Mrs Tracey Bratley - Executive Headteacher

I joined Manuden Primary school over five years ago and I love being part of our loving and caring ‘Manuden family’.  I have two children – a son who is at university and a daughter who is studying for her A levels.  I am an active member of a charity that support orphans in Romania and over the years have built some very special relationships with orphans.  In my spare time, I enjoy running, reading, gardening and looking after my many chickens.

Mrs Marnie Tait - Deputy Headteacher

Ms Debbie Todd - SENCo

I joined Manuden Primary  seven and a half years ago,  after moving closer to the area. I’m a qualified teacher , which compliments and enhances my role as a SENCo. Outside of school life, I’m a busy mum and switch off by keeping fit ( walking my gorgeous dog, strength training and running) . Floristry has become a recent hobby of mine too; I enjoy anything creative including cooking and drawing.

Miss Lizzie Grant - Office Manager

I've lived in Manuden for over 25 years and starting volunteering at the School in 2012 when my daughter started in Reception.  I applied for the Office Manager role in March 2013 and was delighted to be offered the job.  I love working at Manuden School - especially as no two days are ever the same!  My daughter is now in Year 9 at Herts & Essex but still has very fond memories of her time at Manuden.  In my spare time I like reading, cooking and drawing.  I am a Paediatric First Aider and a Mental Health First Aider.

Snowy Owl Class:

Mrs Alison Warbrick - Class Teacher (Monday - Wednesday AM)

I have lived in Manuden for 35 years and started to work at Manuden Primary School 20 years ago when my own children were young and still at the school.  When I’m not teaching you will often see me going for walks with my dog Heidi around the village.  I also enjoy cooking, sewing and reading.

Mrs Hayley Donnan - Class Teacher (Wednesday PM - Friday)

I have been working at Manuden School for 4 years, having previously worked at Chrishall in Year 3 & 4  and Reception & Year 1.  I have 2 teenage children, 2 dogs, 2 cats and 16 chickens who keep me busy when I’m not at work.  I enjoy live music, reading and walking, particularly in The Lake District.

Mrs Ciara Hexter - Teaching Assistant (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday)

I moved to Bishop's Stortford in 2018 with my family.  After having spent 8 years focused on bring up my 3 young children, I started working here in Manuden in Jan 2021.  My children are nearly all in full time education now and I was eager to come back to work. My professional background has always been in early years and family support. My passion for early years has not waivered so when I had the opportunity to do it again in a way that worked for my family I jumped at it.  I'm so glad I did, I really enjoy working at Manuden Primary.  I'm my spare time, I enjoy getting out for walks or enjoying a cozy movie night in with my family.

Mrs Shelly Gayton - Learning Support Assistant (Wednesdays)

I moved here with my family 7 years ago.  I have two children at Manuden school so when a job came up, I thought it was perfect.  Being a village school it really has a great sense of community and everyone is lovely.  We live on a farm so in my spare time we love to explore the countryside as a family. I also love to read and draw.

Barn Owl Class:

Ms Sally Mead - Class Teacher

I have worked at Manuden for three years and came from another local school where I taught Year 4.  I originally job-shared but am now full time which I really enjoy.  I cycle a lot when I am not at school which keeps me fit and active and also gives me time to be outdoors, meet friends and relax.  I have three children, two at University and one living and working in Bristol, who I see a lot.

Mrs Nicola Brand - Teaching Assistant

I have worked at Manuden Primary School since November 2020.  I started at Manuden as an LSA in Snowy Owl Class and I am now working in Barn Owl Class as a Teaching Assistant.  Previously I worked in a Pre School in Sible Hedingham as a Pre School Practitioner.  I am happily married and have 2 children who keep me busy in my spare time, along with 2 dogs.

In my youth I played for Essex County Netball team as Goal Defence - netball is always a sport I will have a passion for.  I also enjoy swimming, walking, travelling, going to the zoo, theme parks and the cinema with my family.  My favourite hobbies are having the most fun and living life to its fullest.

Hawk Owl Class:

Mrs Hanna Barraclough - Class Teacher (Monday & Tuesday)

I started work at Manuden in 2018, working as a Teaching Assistant.  I had previously taught for eight years but took a break to have a family.  I soon realised I missed being the teacher and was pleased to find a teaching role within the school in 2019.  I now teach Year 3 & 4 as a job share with Mrs Jarmain.  Outside of school I love to read, take part in online Bounce fit classes and spend time with my two children.

Mrs Gemma Jarmain - Class Teacher (Wednesday - Friday)

Mrs Simone Murray -  Teaching Assistant

I have a background in finance administration and a love of literature, gardening, reading, theatre and art.

My active interest in and the support of my daughter's education, led to me being asked by a parent to tutor her son  in GCSE English Language and Literature.  I found tutoring all ages to be incredibly rewarding which resulted in my decision to pursue a secondary career supporting learning in schools part time.  I joined Manuden Primary School in April 2019 as a Teaching Assistant in Hawk Owl Class.

Eagle Owl Class:

Miss Megan Evans - Class Teacher (Monday - Wednesday)

I started working at Manuden 7 years ago and initially taught Years 1 & 2.  After a few years with the younger children, I was asked if I wanted to teach the older children in Year 5 & 6.  It was a bit of a jump but I have to say I love teaching in Eagle Owl Class and I am now into my 5th year with this age group.  Recently I have had a gorgeous little girl and so now work part-time.  Outside of school I love spending time with my family & friends and running.

Mrs Marnie Tait - Deputy Headteacher (Thursday & Friday)

Mrs Sally Dempsey - Teaching Assistant

I first became associated with Manuden Primary School in 2002 when my eldest child started in Snowy Owl.  Since then my other three children have all been through the school.  I started working as a Teaching Assistant, initially in Snowy Owl Class, in 2012.  For the past three years I have been working in Eagle Owl Class.  In my spare time I like walking, going to the gym, meeting with friends and internet shopping!

Catering & Midday Staff:

Mrs Gemma Hughes - Catering Manager

I was told Manuden were looking for a Catering Manager by a friend of mine who's child attends the school.  That was just over a year ago now and I'm still loving my job!  I have three children and enjoy baking, long walks with the family and I love everything Elvis!

Mrs Amanda Rivers - Catering & Midday Assistant

I have worked at Manuden for 18 years following my Auntie's role - who also worked here for many years and informed me of the vacant position.  I also work as Cleaner.  When  do have any spare time, I enjoy walks with our dog, Moses and spending time with my family.
