Manuden Primary School Uniform

At Manuden Primary School, our uniform helps children feel a sense of belonging and pride in their school. We want our uniform to be smart, practical and affordable, while giving families flexibility about where they purchase most items.

From September 2026, primary schools must limit compulsory branded uniform and PE items to three or fewer. At Manuden, we have deliberately kept our compulsory branded items below this limit.

Our compulsory branded items are:

  • Manuden PE sports shirt – all pupils
  • Manuden school tie – Key Stage 2 only

All other branded items are optional. Families are welcome to purchase Manuden-branded versions, but suitable plain alternatives may be purchased from any retailer.

Buying School Uniform

Our school uniform supplier is Top Form Schoolwear.

School-branded items can be purchased through the Manuden Primary School section of their website:

Manuden Primary School – Top Form Schoolwear

Families may choose to purchase optional branded items through Top Form Schoolwear, but all items other than the compulsory branded items identified above may be purchased as suitable plain alternatives from other retailers.

Government guidance specifically states that parents should have choice over where generic uniform is purchased and that schools should prioritise affordability and value for money.

Nearly-New Uniform

Our PFA holds a stock of good-quality nearly-new school uniform.

This is available to all families and is an excellent way of reducing both the financial cost and environmental impact of school uniform.

Families wishing to access nearly-new uniform can contact:

PFA@manuden.essex.sch.uk

Government guidance requires schools to ensure that second-hand uniform is available and that families are told clearly how to access it.

Help with Uniform Costs

We never want the cost of school uniform to become a barrier to a child attending school or participating fully in school life.

If purchasing uniform is causing difficulty, please contact the school in confidence. We will always try to provide practical and sensitive support.
