School Development Plan
At Manuden Primary School, we are committed to providing the very best education and opportunities for every child. We are proud of our school and its strong sense of community, but we also recognise the importance of continually reflecting, learning and improving.
Our School Development Plan (SDP) identifies the key areas we are focusing on to make Manuden an even better place to learn, grow and thrive.
These priorities are informed by our evaluation of the school, children's achievements, feedback from pupils, parents and staff, and our shared vision:
Growing Hearts, Growing Minds, Growing Dreams
Our School Development Priorities 2026–2027
Our improvement work this year is centred around five key priorities.
1. Teaching, Curriculum and Achievement
We want every child to experience high-quality teaching that inspires curiosity, builds confidence and enables them to achieve their very best.
We are focusing on strengthening consistency in teaching across the school, developing reading and mathematical fluency, and ensuring that learning is appropriately challenging and accessible to all pupils.
2. SEND and Inclusion
Every child deserves to feel valued, included and supported to succeed.
We are strengthening the way we identify and meet children's individual needs, ensuring that support is well planned, regularly reviewed and makes a positive difference. Working closely with parents and carers remains an important part of this priority.
3. Behaviour, Expectations and School Culture
We want Manuden to be a calm, happy and respectful school where children feel safe, relationships are positive and learning can flourish.
Our focus is on establishing clear, consistent expectations and routines across the school, celebrating positive behaviour and ensuring that all children receive appropriate support to make good choices.
4. Leadership and Staff Development
Our staff are central to everything we achieve as a school.
We are committed to supporting and developing our team through professional learning, collaboration and clear leadership responsibilities, ensuring that staff have the knowledge, confidence and support to provide the best possible education for our children.
5. Early Years and School Sustainability
We want to build on the strengths of our Early Years provision and provide children with the very best possible start to their education.
An important part of our longer-term vision is exploring the development of nursery provision at Manuden, subject to the necessary approvals and financial viability. This would help strengthen early education, support families within our local community and contribute to the school's long-term sustainability.
Working Together to Improve Our School
Alongside these priorities, safeguarding and children's wellbeing remain at the heart of everything we do.
We are also committed to strengthening communication with families, providing meaningful opportunities for enrichment and personal development, and maintaining a welcoming school environment where everyone feels they belong.
Our progress is reviewed regularly by school leaders and governors to ensure that the actions we take make a genuine difference to children's experiences and outcomes.
Our School Development Plan for 2026–2027 has been approved by the Governing Body. It sets out five key priorities for improving teaching, inclusion, behaviour, leadership and the future development of our school.
You can read our Parent and Community Summary below. School leaders and governors regularly review progress to ensure that our improvement work makes a positive difference to children.
We look forward to working together with our children, families, staff and wider community as we continue to develop our school.
