The government has committed to providing a ring-fenced amount of money to Primary Schools. The money is only allowed to be spent on the provision of PE and Sport. This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to schools to be spent on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children. Schools are able to decide on how the money is spent based on the needs of the pupils at their own school.
